WATCH-A-THORN LATEST! EKITI CHIEF SETS TO EXTEND GWR BY 10 HOURS, SAYS ‘I HAVE STRENGTH TO BREAK EXISTING RECORD’

In a dramatic twist and barely 10 hours to the end of record breaking 120 hours Watch-A-Thorn Guinness World Record, the current contestant and Ekiti Chief Sanya Atofarati has signified his interest in adding 10 extra hours to make a total 130 hours record chase.

He spoke to our correspondent during the five minutes regular break this afternoon in his residence while staying glued to the television set.

The Chief, who exhudes great energy and in obvious high spirit despite his heavy eyes, disclosed that he was determined to do extra 10 hours in order to satisfy his curiousity and to beat the current holder of 94 hours marathon record with a remarkable margin.


He said: “I think with the ticking of the clock that puts the whole exercise to a close by 12.am tomorrow, I have no doubt in my mind that I can do 130 hours, an additional 10 hours from my previous 120 hours target which will put me in clear lead from the current world record holder of 94 hours.
On why he proceeded on the new target, the Chief said; “Having surpassed the current record holder already, I think I still have the strength and capacity to go extra 10 hours more to put me in clear lead ahead of the present winner, when put into consideration the plus and minus of the organizer” he explained.
