Following the arbitrary increase in the prices of commodities especially food stuffs in the market, the Chairman, Ajoni LCDA, Prince Michael Ogungbemi has met with the Iyaloja’s and Iyalaje’s from the ten communities of the council area.

The Chairman, who frowned at the indiscriminate hike in prices of goods and commodities orchestrated by traders and market owners on daily basis, noted that the arbitrary increases in prices of commodities is bringing untold hardship on Ajoni people.

In their response, the market leaders said the ugly development of exorbitant prices of products was borne out of greed of some unscrupulous people bent on causing self-inflicted pains on the masses.
They noted that the price of PMS has been stable since it was increased last year noting that there was no justification for any increase in prices now.

They attributed the unwholesome practice to the handiwork of the opposition and mischief makers who are bent on destroying the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

The Chairman in a sharp reaction, ordered that the concerned market leaders should take charge of their individual markets they suprintend over with a view to reduce the prices of commodities and ensure some level of price control in their markets.

In a related development, the Chairman, Hon. Ogungbemi received a delegation of both the Itapaji Progressive Union (IPU) and the Only of Itapaji in Council.

The delegation which was led by IPU National President, Hon. Adeyeye Osatuyi from Lagos commended the Chairman for his developmental agenda, giant strides and uncommon initiatives in providing social amenities cum investment and infrastructural facilities in Itapaji Ekiti.
They prayed for God’s continued guidance for the Chairman and for more development in Ajoni as a whole.
