The resurrection of Jesus Christ has been described as a rescue mission by God to save the humanity from destruction and to give man rest from all troubles of life.
The District Pastor of the Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), Ikere District, Pastor Olumide Akinrotohun, stated this at the grand finale of the church’s 2023 Easter Retreat held on Sunday at the District Campground along Ikere-Akure Road in Ikere Ekiti.
Akinrotohun said Jesus Christ paid the price with his life to make the redemption of man possible to reconcile man back to God which he described as the essence of Easter.
The clergyman noted that all aspect of Nigeria’s life including economy, governance, security, education, among others need revival which can be found in the resurrection.
The service featured thanksgiving, drama presentation, ministration in songs by children and adult choirs, sermon, among others.
The District Pastor said it cost God his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to ensure the salvation of man urging those who are yet to give their lives to Christ to do so without any delay to be part of the kingdom of God.
He said: “The resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is very significant because it has made our salvation and redemption possible. If Christ had not risen, our hope would have been in vain.
“God sent Jesus Christ into this world and the purpose of his coming was to redeem us from our sins. He laid down his life and paid the price for our salvation.
“The resurrection has given us hope that after death, we shall arise again. As many that has accept him will be redeemed. Resurrection was a rescue mission by God to save humanity from destruction.
“If we allow Christ into every aspect of our life, like economy, governance, security, education and others, things will move very well and our people will enjoy.”
According to him, the best way to celebrate Easter is for Nigerians to give room for Jesus Christ into their lives and allow him to be in control of their lives
