RENEWED HOPE CONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER: 93,787 UNBANKED EKITI INDIGENES TO RECEIVE N25,000 EACH

The Head of Unit, Ekiti State Cash Transfer Unit, Mrs Oluwatoyin Olomo stated that Ninety Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Seven (93,787) beneficiaries from Ekiti State will benefit from the N25,000 Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme embarked on by the Federal government to alleviate the inconveniences caused by the removal of fuel subsidy and this exercise will span for a period of three months.

She made this known at the One – Day Step Down Training on Beneficiary Orientation and Enrolment Process; a Refresher Training organised for the Cash Transfer Facilitators on the 20th December, 2023 who will be in the communities across the Sixteen (16) Local Government Areas to meet the beneficiaries and enrol them on the programme. Also in attendance were The Special Adviser to the Governor on Social Investment Programme, Hon. Mrs Yemisi Ayokunle, and the Executive Secretary, State Social Investment Coordinating Agency (SSICA), Mr Kayode Ojo Martins. In her goodwill message, the SA enjoined the Facilitators to put in their best and ensure that all beneficiaries that are on the list forwarded by the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO) Abuja are fully enrolled.

The Head of Unit further said that the National Cash Transfer Office (NCTO) under the supervision of Dr. Betta Edu, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in conjunction with the State Cash Transfer Unit is notifying the people of Ekiti State that the programme, the Renewed Hope CCT has commenced in the State and the Cash Transfer Local Government Facilitators under the supervision of the State Head of Unit (HOU), and the State officers are already at the various Wards and Communities for the enrolment of unbanked beneficiaries across the sixteen LGAs.

According to her, the State is set to enrol a total of ninety three Thousand, seven hundred and eighty seven(93,787) unbanked beneficiaries as mined by the National Cash Transfer Office from the National Social Register and Rapid Response Register with a geographical spread across all the local government areas in the State.

Moreover, she reiterated that data capturing of the beneficiaries will be carried out in the course of the enrollment exercise which has commenced from Thursday 21st December, 2023. “Our mission is to validate the supposed beneficiaries including people living with disabilities and make sure that they are the ones bearing the names that is on the list”.

Speaking further, the Head of Unit said the essence of the enrolment exercise is to ensure that the unbanked beneficiaries are captured on the programme and also provide the beneficiaries access to Digitized Financial Services. She noted that already, five thousand, seven hundred and twenty one (5,721) banked beneficiaries have started receiving the ₦25,000 on the platform of the Renewed Hope CCT in the State.

The State Head of Unit therefore solicits the cooperation of the beneficiaries so that the enrolment exercise can be itch-free and successful.
