After many years of frustration and neglect, travellers going to Osun State from Ekiti can now heave a sigh of relief as the 7 kilometers road from Osan Ekiti, a community in Moba Local Government is now fully rehabilitated and motorable for ease of movement and inter state transportation.
Giving a testimony to our reporter who made a stop over at his palace on inception of the road project, the Royal Father of the town
HRM Oba (Alhaji) Tajudeen Bamidele, JIMOH, Atayese1, Olosan of Osan Ekiti said the rehabilitated road has a long history of unfulfilled promises by successive governments in the State but thanked God that the project was actualized during the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji whose love for community development is unparalleled”
According to him; “We thank God that our road project was completed during the current administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji but we can not but appreciate the efforts of his predecessor, Dr John Kayode Fayemi who initiated the rehabilitation of the road but could not complete it before he left office. He was the one who upgraded the road to a federal road through which the project got the needed approval from the Federal Government”
He extended the community gratitude to the elected federal lawmakers representing the senatorial zone in the National Assembly.
His words: “Fortunately for the community, the present crop of our elected lawmakers in the National Assembly have shown genuine love and commitment for the development of Mobaland most especially Hon. Kolawole Akinlayo and Senator Cyril Fasuyi who he said pressed the right button from the top.
Speaking in similar vein, the monarch lauded the indigenous Contractor who handled the project Engr. Olaniyi Afolabi, CEO, Leadgate Construction Company Ltd for leaving behind a legacy of integrity and honesty.
According to him: “The Contractor visited me when the project was awarded with a promise that he was going to deliver the job within a specific time time frame even though he was going to raise funds to do the job in lieu of the disbursement of the contract from the Federal Government and to my surprise he was able to fulfill the promise and delivered the project as promised. I was so glad that I awarded him with the Chieftaincy title of Jagunmolu of Osan Ekiti. To me, it was a dream come true after many years of waiting. At the end of the day he who laughs last laughs best. The road which was first awarded during the regime of Engr Segun Oni has finally seen the light of the day”. He said
