Hon Prince Fadumiye Ayodele, the immediate past Executive Chairman of Ayekire Local Government has joined thousands of other mourners at the residence of the late Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Ekiti State who passed on last week.
In a chat with our correspondent at Imesi Ekiti, the former council boss said: “It was a rude shock! I want to say emphatically that I was with him on Tuesday evening and I left his place after 6.00pm only for the present executive Chairman of our council Ayekire Local Government to call me something after 10pm that I should meet him at the State hospital that my oga is dead.
“So to me it was a great loss to each and everyone of us. Not only in Imesi Ekiti but to the entire Ayekire and Gbonyin Local Governments and Ekiti State as a whole so I wouldn’t know how our living God will give us someone like him again in these two local governments. I’m perplexed”
Fadumiye speaks further; “My oga in his life time happens to be a one -man battalion. Oga would never be a stranger to anybody. The moment you know him or he knows you, you have become his family and the way he treats his blood brother was the same way he would treat everybody. He was a great man in all ramifications. Oga was great” he stated.
Responding to how the late APC Chairman would be remembered:
“If we are talking about the time he left us, to me, it’s not by age because Oga is about 60 plus but if you see him actively acting, you will think he’s about 90 years old. The time he left us happens to be the toughest time to me because I don’t want him to leave us at the time he left us but there’s absolutely nothing we can do than to take solace.”
