ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY: EKITI ASSEMBLY DONATES PALLIATIVES TO VULNERABLE, ARTISANS, OTHERS

As part of the activities marking the week long one year anniversary of the Seventh Ekiti State House of Assembly in office, the Assembly has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to the Federal Agency, the National Identity Management Commission, Children Correctional home Ado Ekiti and other category of people respectively.

The presentation which was done by the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Bolaji Olagbaju and Majority Leader of the House Hon. Tolu Ige had in attendance the other lawmakers at the State Head office of the agency and Children Correctional home Afao Road, Ado Ekiti.

Presenting the materials, Canopy and Chairs to the Federal Agency on behalf of the Speaker and the other Lawmakers, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Bolaji Olagbaju said the Seventh Assembly knew the importance of intergovernmental relations, we were not happy on the hardship encountered by the residents in the course of collecting their National Identity Number (NIN).

She therefore, charged the agency to reciprocate the gesture by providing a conducive environment for the Residents of the State whenever they are in the Office to collect their National Identity Number, what we are doing today we are doing it for our people, though this is a Federal Agency that have direct impacts on the lives of our people, noting that the Assembly would continue to build on the established working relationship.

Similarly, the Assembly also donated Skilled acquisition items to the Children Correctional home, along Afao Road Ado Ekiti, an allied agency under the Ministry of Women Affairs as a way of supporting the State Government in actualization of its developmental agenda, items donated to the Children Correctional home include, Generating set, Sewing machines, Clippers and other valuable items.

Delivering the items, the Majority Leader of the House Hon. Tolu Ige said the Assembly would not relent from giving to the Vulnerable and the less privileged in the State, he enjoined the Coordinator and other Staff to make good use of the items for the benefit of the Vulnerable in the centre adding that the Assembly will make the visit to the place a routine.

Prior to the visit of the Lawmakers to the Federal Agency and the Correctional home, the spouses of the Lawmakers has donated empowerment materials to over four hundred people across the 26 Constituencies in the State to show their support to the Lawmakers.

Responding after the presentation, the Ekiti State Coordinator of National Identity Management Commission, Taiwo Ogundare eulogies the Seventh Assembly on the intervention, said he was elated for the relief materials donated by the Seventh Assembly, he described them as true representative of the people and promised to convey the message to the relevant stakeholders and National headquarters of the Commission.

At the Children Correctional home along Afao Road, the Sectional head of the Centre, Oladele Afolabi lauded the initiative of the Seventh Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, he assured the Lawmakers that the Agency would make good use of the items and would serve the purpose for the donation.
