For the family of Mr and Mrs Samuel Olakanmi, nothing compares to the pains and agonies they suffered in the house they built with their sweat which has today turned to a replica of Herman house of horror and desolation.
An encounter with the couple at their residence located at Better Life area off Basiri/Old Iyin Road was a sorry sight to behold as the harmful impact of MTN mast located at a close distance to the building has dealt a devastating blows to their lives and health.
Our correspondent who visited the place this morning was shown how the three bedroom bungalow had been reduced to a rubble as a result of massive vibration from MTN base station in close proximity to the house.
From the account of Mrs Olakanmi it appears they have lost hope of getting justice from the hands of some powerful individuals in collaboration with the Telecom giant MTN
Amidst sobs, Mrs Olakanmi in her 70s said: “We have left our case with God as all attempts to get justice from MTN had ended in futility. We don’t know people who have influence in the society to fight for us that was why we preferred to hold our peace trusting God to help us”
Parading our correspondent to the dilapidated house which is going under repairs as a result of heavy vibration from the base station, she explained that the couple had been confined to only one room which was relatively saved from vibration.
To worsen the situation her elderly hubby, Pa Olakanmi was fast asleep as it was learnt he could only sleep well during the day. He could not be awaked to grant an interview
From a medical report signed by a competent doctor and shown to our correspondent, Pa Olakanmi was suffering from brain seizure, a medical condition traceable to radiation.
