Ekiti State Police Command has announced the arrest of five suspected kidnappers in a forest near Iju/Ikere boundary.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr Sunday Abutu, said in a statement in Ado Ekiti that the suspects were apprehended during a joint operation by the police, NSCDC, Amotekun, O.P.C and local hunters in Oke-Osun, Ikere/Igbo-Okah area.
Mr Abutu said the suspects initially claimed to be herdsmen, but none of them had any cattle and no cattle were seen with them in the forest where they were caught.
He said the police recovered two motorcycles, one cutlass, one jack, one dagger and four phones from the suspects
