IPOTI DAY 2023: EXCITEMENT AS COMMUNITY CELEBRATES IN STYLE, RAISES OVER N3M FOR TOWN’S DEVELOPMENT

Yesterday November 11 was uniquely significant both in date and in the good memories of Ipoti sons and daughters who will savour the excitement of 2023 Ipoti Day for a long time to come.

Coming barely two weeks after the 10th coronation anniversary of HRM Oba Oladipupo Kolade James the Olupoti of Ipoti, yesterday’s gala event makes it a double celebration for the serene community in Irede LCDA.

The annual event witnessed a large turn out of indigenes of Ipoti from all walks of life including invited dignitaries from other parts of the country who added glitz and colour to the carnival like grand occasion that started on Friday.

As expected, the royal father of the day was the Olojudo of Ido Ekiti HRM Oba Ayorinde Ilori-Faboro and Chairman Ekiti Council of Traditional Rulers who led other Ekiti Obas to rejoice with one of their own.

In his opening address, Oba Oladipupo expressed gratitude to God for what He has been doing in terms of development since his ascension to the throne of his fore fathers ten years ago which he described as; “A decade of dedicated service and achievements”

He said; “I wish to use this opportunity once again to congratulate Ipoti indigenes home and abroad, all progressive minded lovers of Ipoti and wish all of us happy celebration. If to count our blessings one by one, for the ten years on the throne, we have cause to thank God in all ramifications for positive impacts, both physical and spiritual”

Speaking in similar vein, the chairman, Ipoti Community Development Council, Prof. Oladipo Mark Afolayan stated that Ipoti Days present opportunity to celebrate the culture and tradition of Ipoti kingdom adding that the town has been destined to be a great town in all sectors of human development describing the town as “divinely ordained and profoundly indisputable”

The colourful occasion was wrapped up with the conferment of chieftaincy title on one of the illustrious sons of Ipoti Hon. Banji Jude Adefila with as he becomes Otunba Gbeluga of Ipoti kingdom and his adorable wife Mrs Adefunke Adefila as Yeye Gbeluga of Ipoti kingdom.
One of the high points of the Ipoti Day 2023 was the launching of special fund for the development of Ipoti community.

Anchored by Elder Ayo Arogundade, the undisputed Ambassador of Ipoti kingdom in his characteristic role as the official spokesperson of the town gave a good account of himself as he persuasively enjoined guests to donate generously towards the town’s development.
At the end of the fund raising, over N3m was realized.
Former Governor of Ekiti State sent a personal donation of N500,000. three Federal lawmakers donated N300,000 each, Chief Adefila, N500, 000, Hon. Abayomi Adegboye (Chief Host), N300,000 amongst others.
