The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Saturday conducted a supplementary election into the Ekiti State House of Assembly earlier cancelled on March 11.
This affords residents of Ido-Osi Local Government in the affected three polling units to cast their votes in the return election.
Recall that results of the three units were cancelled during the last House of Assembly election held on the 18th of march due to violence
Our correspondent reports that the election which witnessed impressive voters turn out was a race between the three major political parties ably represented Ido Osi constituency include APC, PDP and SDP.
The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Mr Dare Ogundare commenting on the rescheduled poll, said the election was peaceful, noting that all electorate were given equal opportunity to exercise their franchise.
Also, the representative of EFCC, Mr Eze Sunday said that poll was devoid of vote buying as nobody was arrested
Our correspondent who monitored the poll noted that security officers comprising police, NSCDC, EFCC and Soldier were on ground to ensure an hitch free exercise.
Meanwhile results are being collated as at time of filing this report.
