FUHSI SHUT AS RAMPAGING STUDENTS PROTEST OVER POWER OUTAGE

Authorities of Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun in Osun State has closed down the school indefinitely following a violent protest by aggrieved students of the institution over poor electricity supply in the town.

According to report from some of the students, the institution had been in total darkness for the past two weeks leading to intense agitation and tension in the school barely one week to the commencement of semester examination.
Trouble started early this morning when aggrieved students of the university comprising EKSU and OSCE took to the streets protesting over the unending blackout in the town by marching to the office of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company in the town.
They were however dispersed by the police firing carnister of tear gas to prevent the mob from attacking facilities at the electricity distribution company.
However matter took a new twist when the protesters returned to the campus as they unleash violence on those who refused to participate in the protest as some students sustained injuries.
The school authority has since ordered the indefinite closure of the institution to prevent further violence and break down of law and order.
