ERRATIC POWER SUPPLY: OYEBANJI FLAYS BEDC OPERATION IN EKITI

By Lekan Adejuwon

The incessant poor supply of electricity being experienced by many communities in Ekiti State has been frowned at by the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji

The development came on the ills of angry reactions from Ekiti people complaining bitterly about poor electricity supply or non availability of it.

Governor Oyebanji has in a proactive measure, engaged the new management team of the distribution company Benin Electricity Distribution Company BEDC.

During the interaction with the BEDC team led by the new CEO, Mr Deolu, the Governor seized the opportunity to speak the minds of Ekiti people while expressing his displeasure over the manner people of the state are being unfairly treated by the BEDC .

His words: “BEDC hasn’t been fair to us in Ekiti State and that informed the reason we have resulted to self help which is costing government a lot but we don’t mind as long as our people can enjoy electricity supply. This is because we campaigned on a mantra of Shared prosperity and if the people must proper , they must be productive. “There can never be productivity where power supply is very poor or not available. If there is regular and quality electricity supply , the people will be willing to pay .”
