EKITI BAGS MOST ACTIVE TOURISM STATE IN NIGERIA

A record breaking feat was achieved by Ekiti State in recognition of her pivotal role at boosting domestic tourism.
This came with a special recognition as the Most Active Tourism State in Nigeria, 2023.

The exclusive tourism honour was given to the State by leading domestic tourism platform: SEVEN WONDERS OF NIGERIA (Naija7Wonders) in its latest ranking.

In a congratulatory letter signed by Mr Ikechi Uko, Project Director and addressed to the DG Ekiti State Tourism Development, Barr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, the letter reads;
“It is our pleasure to inform you that Ekiti State has been recognized as one of the most active tourism states in Nigeria 2023. In recognition of the valiant and resourceful efforts to drive and sustain domestic tourism by promoting the industry in their respective states, members of the Seven
Wonders of Nigeria (Naija7Wonders), the leading domestic tourism platform, have compiled a list of the Top Promoters of Domestic Tourism in Nigeria for the Year 2023 and this includes the Top Tourism States.

“In 2023, Ekiti State hosted the Annual General Meeting of the Nigeria Association of Tour Operators
(NATOP).The state also hosted an event on World Tourism Day (WTD).

“The Award Presentations will hold at the 10th Wonders of Nigeria Expo on the 19th of April 2024 at the
National Museum, Onikan, Lagos State. During the 2-day event, which will kick off on April 18th, there
will be Tourism Master Class Training session. You can register your staff for the Training.

“The Wonders of Nigeria Expo seeks to transform the perception of Nigeria’s tourism potential by
countering negative stereotypes through the showcase of 1000 breathtaking pictures capturing the
diverse beauty of our nation. Ekiti State can participate at the event by taking exhibition stand and
showcase its rich assets and pictures.

“Congratulations and we hope this will spur Ekiti State to do more to dominate the domestic tourism
industry, while evolving gradually into one of Nigeria’s top international tourism destinations”
