EKITI AMOTEKUN ARREST SERIAL CRIME SUSPECT IN OYE

The Amotekun Operatives atOye Local Government Command arrested oneTaiwo Emmanuel, 28, an indigene of Omuo-Aran in Kwara State last Sunday during a joint patrol with other security agencies of Ekiti State.

In a press statement signed by the security outfit’s Head Communication Department, Officer Adeleye Adewale, the suspect has been on the watchlist of the Operatives for some weeks before he was eventually entrapped by them.

It was gathered that during investigation, the suspect had been apprehended on several occasions for different offences such ranging from hard drug, street fighting, burglary and pickpocketing amongst other crimes leading to his being asked to evacuate the town after signing an undertaking.

After a thorough search, some costly phones were recovered from him which he confessed to have stolen at one club house (Groove Garden) located in the town.

He also lamented his failure to sell the items owing to the security PIN/passwords on them.

In a related development, the Officers were able to apprehend three of his friends who have been harbouring and abetting him the suspect.

The suspect, alongside his three friends with all the exhibits (2 phones, l phone XR MAX and REDMI NOTE 13) recovered from him, have since been handed over to the police jurisdiction of the town in Oye Local Government Command for further profiling.
