Ekiti 2022 : Late Afenifere leader endorses BAO for continuity …warns Yoruba people not to loose presidency

The family of late Afenifere leader, Senator Ayo Fasanmi has urged Ekiti people to ensure continuity of laudable achievements of Dr John Kayode Fayemi by voting for Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji BAO in the June 18 governorship election in the state advising them not to deviate from the path of progressive governance which dates back to the halcyon days of the Action Group.

The family stated this in a press statement signed by Media Assistant to the late Sen Ayo Fasanmi, Mr. Adebayo Temitope, and made  available to our correspondent in Ado Ekiti on Friday.
Mr. Temitope also commended the party’s choice of Hon Biodun Oyebanji as flag bearer in the forthcoming elections.

Mr. Adebayo Temitope

According to him “Unarguably Hon Biodun Oyebanji, is a core progressive politician since he joined the forays of public service. “His stint as a former lecturer in the state University was exemplary, Oyebanji was also one of the cabinet members during the first civilian administration of Otunba Niyi Adebayo; and his sterling experience during both the first time and second time of Gov Kayode leadership will make the job easier for him if given an opportunity to serve the good people of Ekiti state.”

The family lauded Oyebanji’s contribution towards the creation of Ekiti State which has remained ndelible in the minds of Ekiti people.

“Indeed the spirit of late Pa Fasanmi would be filled with joy in the grave if the All Progressive Congress. APC remains in power come 2022.

“We are appealing to all well meaning Yoruba Leaders who are truly authentic Afenifere to come together and rescue the Yoruba nation, and work in harmony to realize the 2023 presidential ticket which has been zoned to the South.”

Temitope added that Yoruba must speak with one voice and present an eminently acceptable candidate who will be gleefully accepted by all Nigerians in experience, proficiency good pedigree.  The Yoruba must not again be drawn to the bitter feud between the Awolowo and Akintola camps of yore.

” Yoruba leaders who are at the fore front of advocacy for other regions to take over from Buhari are grandstanding and constituting themselves as enemies of Yoruba people”
In a similar vein, the family lauded Gov Kayode Fayemi for his selfless service to humanity as a true national leader with awesome credentials while urging the good people of Ekiti to forge ahead with purpose, vision, resilience bye allowing peace to reign during and after the elections.
