The newly established Ekameta Local Council Development Area in Ekiti West Local Government has received a big boost from Governor Biodun Oyebanji during the foundation laying of an ultra modern secretariat.
The secretariat which is located on a fifty plots of land along Erijiyan Ikogosi road is expected to be completed in few months time through donations from well meaning individuals within and outside the communities that make up the LCDA.
Speaking at the turning of the sod, the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biifun Oyebanji represented by one of his aides, Chief Jide Awe promised to give necessary supports to LCDAs in the state towards realizing the objective of their creation just as he made personal donation to the project.
In a remark, the head of the Oloje dynasty that donated the land for the project, Chief Omotunde Ojo said their decision was in the interest of development urging the council to also reciprocate the gesture in future by giving preference to children of the family in future opportunities.
Also speaking, the Olohan of Erijiyan Ekiti who spoke on behalf of other Obas of communities that make the LCDA, Oba Adegoroye
Omosebi noted that the LCDA has been a blessing to the area urging sons and daughters of the communities to support its development.
Earlier, the Acting Chairman of the LCDA, Mr Adebusuyi Ebenezer said the current building which would still be extended has offices for executive officers, and staff hoping that it would enhance adminstration.
