EID- EL- KABIR; ONIJAN FELICITATES WITH MUSLIMS, ADMONISHES THEM TO EMULATE VIRTUES OF PROPHET IBRAHIM

As Muslims faithful mark this year’s Eid-l-Kabir, the Royal father of Ijan kingdom, HRM Oba Lawrence Adebanji Aladesuyi, Afayagbekun II, has joined the moslem community in his domain at the Eid praying ground.

While urging the faithful to be modest as they go about celebrating the annual festival, the monarch admonished them to emulate the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim and practice religion of tolerance exemplified by the prophet.

Oba Aladesuyi in his sallah message, enjoined the Muslims to reflect fully on the teachings of holy Quran and imbibe the spirit of humility, tolerance, sacrifice and love for promotion of harmonious relationships in the community, the state and Nigeria as a whole.

His words; ” I wish to felicitate with you on this year’s Eid-al-Adha celebrations as it marks the beginning of a new era in our community. As I convey this my message of hope, peace and fulfillment to you all my brothers and sisters in Islam. I want to stress that the essence of our religion gathering and celebration should centered on unity of purpose in love and forbearance, as I can assure you of my intention to run a government of prejudice toward none, but love and piety toward all in the community irrespective of our social status or religion divides.”

“Let us continued to remember the town in whatever capacity and constantly pray for her in all our dealings so it can grow in love and warmth and to meet the standard of unity and progress amongst it neighborhood towns in the environs, Onijan stated.”

The monarch further stated that he would always extend his hands of love to the muslims by lending his support in the ongoing central mosque project in the community, noting that the building of the mosque is to the development of the town hence, the need to rally support for it’s actualisation.

In company with the Kabiesi to the Eid praying ground is Olori Folashade Aladesuyi, Chiefs Adetayo Adeyemi – Oisa, Odofin, Olubunmi Olaoye- Daramola, Awe Adewumi- Olotin of Ijan, the IPU president, Mr Joel Yinka Pereao among others.

Expressing gratitude to God, the Chief Imam of the community, Alhaji Ahmed Akingbade thanked God for sparing his life and other Muslim brethren in the community for witnessing yet another Sallah celebration in sound health, appreciated the Kabiesi for always being there whenever they sought his assistance and making it a day with them as they mark this year’s Eid-al-Adha. Praying Almighty Allah to continued to bless the monarch on the throne.
