COMMUTERS GROAN AS UNRULY POLY STUDENTS DISTRUPT TRAFFIC ALONG IJAN ROAD

By Editor

Protesting students of Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti this morning staged a protest causing traffic gridlock along the busy highway.
Our correspondent who was caught in the traffic lock jam can reveal that the protest was connected with what the students claimed to be federal government continuous neglect of the federal road.
The protesting students who carried placards expressing their grievances blocked motorists travelling to their different destinations from Ado while they allowed while those coming from outside the city some movement.
However the ugly developments has led to agonies and unspeakable hardship by stranded motorists who complained of the unexpected discomfort they experienced for plying the road on a Monday morning when business activities were grounded.
The protesters which were later joined by some staff of the institution vowed not to leave the road until a government official address them and give them a word of assurance over the failed road.
They were later dispersed by a detachment of police men who arrived the scene at some minutes after 11 am this morning.
Normalcy has since returned to the busy highway as at time of filing this report.
