Bisi Kolawole denies rumoured rift with Fayose

By Sunday Afolabi

Amidst rumoured face-off with his political godfather, the People’s Democratic Party flag bearer in the June 18 governorship election, Hon. Bisi Kolawole has debunked rumours making the round of an intractable rift between the former governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose and himself.
Speaking at a popular radio interview in Ado Ekiti and monitored by our correspondent during the week, the former House of Assembly member said his relationship with the former Governor had remained cordial even after his emergence as the PDP’s primary held on February 26.
He said the purported clash between them was a figment of imagination of some people who wanted to cause distraction in the party.

Reacting to the question of being the anointed candidate of Fayose ahead of other contestants, Kolawole said it was nothing new that the former governor has taken special interest in him and has supported him noting that Fayose remains his destiny helper.

He said “Fayose ruled the state for eight years where I served under him and he knows and confident that I can do the job and when the former governor is supporting someone, he does that whole heartedly and diligently”
He dispelled the rumour that Fayose imposed him on other contestants, according to him, they all went through the primary which he eventually won, “Fayose does not have the power to impose” he maintained.

He said with his credentials as a former counsellor in the state, former member, House of Assembly, former Commissioner, former Chairman of the party and member of BOT, he is more than qualified to govern the State.
He asserted further that Fayose cannot have such a credible character and be looking for something lesser, he maintained that he has worked with almost all governors in the State and all the experiences accrued will be used positively when he emerged as the governor of Ekiti State.
