…Vows to make Council reference point in IGR

The Executive Chairman of Ado-Central Local Council Development Area, Ado Ekiti, Engr. Toyin Ojo has inaugurated a seven-man Economic Recovery Advisory Committee (ERAC) with a charge to advise the Council on how to maximize its economic potential to generate revenue to achieve the set goals and objectives without solely relying on money coming from the federal and state levels.
The Committee which was inaugurated on Friday at the Council’s Mult- Purpose hall, Ado Ekiti was headed by Chief Remi Oguntuase as chairman, Hon. Gbenga Banji as secretary. Other members are: Barrister Tope Oluwasola, Mr Yemi Akinlabi, Hon. (mrs) Biodun Ogunmodede, Mrs Akinyemi Cecilia and Hon. Sunday Ibitoye.
The council boss noted that the committee members were carefully selected putting into cognizance their integrity, wealth of experience, and expertise in their chosen endeavors.
His words; “The rationale behind setting up the committee is to advise the council on how to harness its economic potential to generate revenue to fund all the lofty plans to move the council to the next level. Ado Central is limited in terms of space and land mass, we are in the center of the town. We can’t go and demolish people’s houses. so we now think of what we can do to achieve our dreams. And the money needed to achieve those plans has to be generated. And that comes to mind the idea of the Economic Recovery Advisory Committee and the committee will be able to harness all the economic potential of Ado-Central”
“Some of you may not know the formation of the committee. The committee members are the people who have been successful in their various chosen careers. These people will be able to midwife between us, the state government, traditional rulers, and the people of the community”
The chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to hit the target of 50 million in the year 2024, a development he said would make Ado-Central a pace-setter and reference point to others in the area of internally generated revenue to other local governments.
The council helmsman emphasized the importance of cooperation between the committee and relevant stakeholders in the task of carrying out its assignment.
He expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to make a difference in the council’s fortunes.
Speaking on behalf of the committee’s members, Hon. Gbenga Banji appreciated the chairman for counting them worthy. He said the committee has accepted the responsibility of calling on the Council’s workers to cooperate with them. He promised not to betray the confidence and trust the chairman reposed in them
In his remarks at the event, the Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor on the State Capital Development, Hon. Tade Aluko commended the chairman for being a man of visions and ideas capable of turning the fortunes of the Council around.
He said “Engr. Toyin Ojo remains a man I can vouch for anywhere because of his track record of integrity and unparalleled performance in office. I therefore wish to appeal to workers to cooperate with him to achieve his target plans for the council area”
On his part, Vice Chairman to the Council, Alhaji Onipede Babatunde lauded the good initiative of the chairman and added that the move would yield positive results for the council.
