ABIODUN FELICITATES ASSOCIATION OF YORUBA IN CANADA AT NEW YEAR ADDRESS, MOURNS AKEREDOLU

The newly elected President of Yoruba Association Ontario Canada, Mr Michael Abiodun has sent his goodwill message to members of the Association in commemoration of the yuletide season.

The President in a press statement he personally signed, felicitates with all Yoruba indigenes residing in the North American country on the yuletide season praying for their general well being and success in their endeavors.

According to him; “I sincerely express my sincere greetings and warm felicitations to all members of Yoruba Association in Toronto GTA, Ontario Canada, on the occasion of this year’s yuletide season beginning with the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ on Christmas Day and the new year. It gives me tremendous joy and excitement as the President Yoruba Association Canada to be identified with you in this joyous occasion of safe cross over to the year 2024 despite the various challenges of the outgone year.
“As we celebrate the happy moments with our friends and loved ones I pray that the message of good tidings and everlasting joy shall be our portion throughout the festive period and the new year”

He stressed the need for regular attendance of meetings by members of the Yoruba community as one of the core mandate of each and everyone in year 2022.

His words; “During my acceptance speech as the newly elected President of Yoruba Association Ontario Canada, I made a passionate appeal to all well meaning members of the association to make our attendance at meetings a top priority as a gesture of our love, commitment and dedication to our community. This I am restatating again as we cross over to the year 2024 enjoining us to share our common motivations, values, attitudes and beliefs with others in our community”

In a related development, the Owo-born publisher used the occasion to express his condolences on the death of the governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who passed away in the early hours of December 27, at the age of 67.

“On a sad note however, on behalf of the Yoruba Community in Canada, I condole with the immediate family of the late Governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the people of Owo and the entire people of Ondo State Nigeria on the passing of Aketi who died late last year at a time when his service to the state and the country was still much needed. “Without any doubt, Governor Akeredolu’s legacy of selfless service, exemplary leadership, humility and statesmanship will be remembered for a long time by the entire people of the Sunshine State as he has left a vacuum too difficult to fill. May his gentle soul rest in peace” he concluded.
