More facts emerged on the recent decision of the Executive Chairman of Ajoni LCDA Prince Michael Ogungbemi to crown a primary school pupil, Master Ayiga Prince as one-day Chairman of the LCDA.
Ayiga, a pupil of St. Patrick’s Primary School, Oke Ayedun Ekiti, recently won a spelling bee competition, organized by the Council Chairman, Ogungbemi, conferning the young lad the honour of become the one-day Chairman.
As part of the ‘perks’ of office, the lucky winner of the competition was driven in the Chairman Official car from his home to the Council Secretariat where he was welcomed by the Vice Chairman, Secretary to the Local Council and The Head Of Local Council Administration HLA.
In addition, Master Ayiga was conducted round the offices and later presided over the Executive Council meeting of the LCDA.
Also the One-Day Chairman inspected some completed and ongoing project sites within the LCDA.
Speaking on the novel innovation in an exclusive interview with Ekiti Standard during the week, Prince Ogungbemi said he was impressed by the superlative performance of the pupil who is a product of a public school in his council area and the more reason why he awarded the newly introduced Ajoni LCDA Educational Scholarship prize to Ayiga Prince to cover his tuition fees, uniforms and books through out his secondary school
The Council boss disclosed that he was particularly moved by Ayiga’s brilliant performance and equally emphasized with his poor background.
