With the creation of games centre in the entire 16 Local Governments in the state, Governor Biodun Oyebanji has shown a strong love for traditional games not only as sources of entertainment but also as tools for building social cohesion and unity within communities.
The BAO Games Center was inaugurated in Ado and Ikere Ekiti by Director General Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Oso Omotoso that Governor Oyebanji emphasizes the significance heritage and it’s role in Fostering a sense of togetherness and mutual respect among the people in the grassroots.
She said that the BAO Games center serve as feedback channel from the people in the grassroots, opportunity for people to gather, interact and share experiences, thereby strengthening communal bonds in the locality.
The DG explained that Governor Oyebanji support for the games reflects his broader commitment to grassroots development and commitment engagement adding that Oyebanji highlights his recognition of the power of culture and tradition in promoting social unity and well being of his people ,also enhances social harmony and collective purpose in the grassroots.
In his remark, the Chairman Ikere West LCDA, Hon,Rufus Ige who spoke on behalf of his colleagues appreciated Governor Oyebanji for his efforts in changing the narrative of governance in the state through the infrastructural development embark on across the state.
He said that BAO Games center would bring joy, peace, long life noting that some scientists have proven that laughing could extend the longevity of people’s lives on earth.
Also Speaking in Ado Ekiti, Chief Sola Olarenwaju, the Ejemua of Ado Ekiti expressed gratitude to Governor Oyebanji for counting them worthy in bringing such center to three different locations in Ado Ekiti, stressing that the BAO Games center would enhance their work because most people who came to play games are Okada riders that brought about daily contributions which has assisted them and also promote unity among them.
