For her competence and versatility as a vivid communicator, the Ekiti State Football Refrees’ Association has conferred an award of Life Patroness of the Council to the DG Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Oso- Omotoso for her outstanding contributions to the project of Community engagements, fostering a seamless inter connectivity between the people at the grassroots and the government.
The Association also commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his penchant to put quality people in strategic positions as the hallmark of his administration noting that many of the appointees have aligned with the shared goals and mission of the Governor which continues to manifest in their actions.
The Referees’ Council thus honoured the DG, Office of Community Communications, as the Council’s Life Patroness.
The event also featured the presentation of an Award of Excellence in recognition of her outstanding contributions as a vivid communicator.
The investiture ceremony, held at the DG’s office, highlighted Mrs. Omotosho’s exceptional role in fostering effective communication and grassroots development. The Council commended her staunch support for Governor Oyebanji’s administration and expressed optimism that she would continue to champion initiatives that advance the governor’s vision.
Focusing on grassroots sports development, the Council sought a strategic partnership with the Office of Community Communications to enhance the impact of sports across communities.
They emphasized their desire to leverage the DG’s vast expertise and influence to achieve this goal.
In her response, Mrs. Omotosho expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Council for the honour, describing it as both unexpected and deeply appreciated. She also thanked Governor Oyebanji for providing her the platform to make a meaningful impact. Recalling her enduring passion for sports since her elementary school days, she assured the Council of her commitment to supporting grassroots sports development.
She further emphasized the importance of collaboration, promising a partnership that would not only strengthen sports at the grassroots level but also align with the governor’s broader development agenda.
According to her, sports remain a vital tool for uniting communities and fostering growth, and she is ready to work hand-in-hand with the Council to achieve these goals.
