STUDENTS OF FTC USI STAGE PROTEST OVER INVASION OF BEDBUGS, LACK OF TEACHERS

Aggrieved students of Federal Science and Technical College, Usi-Ekiti has staged a peaceful protest over alleged transfer of 42 teachers in the school unhygienic condition of their hostel said to have been invaded by bedbugs.

Eyewitness account informed the platform that the students were uncomfortable at the ugly situation in the school which at present, was suffering with dearth of teachers.

The students are therefore making a strong appeal to school authority for the reinstatement of their teachers and to also make move to curb the menace of bedbugs invasion of their hostels.

A parent, who spoke on condition of anonymity expressed displeasure on the unhealthy condition of the hostel which according to her has been infested with bedbugs.

While calling on the relevant authorities to intervene to avoid a possible disease outbreak in the school, she demanded that teachers be reposted to the school for academic activities to resume.

According to her; “The time I came to school for open day yesterday, l saw one bedbug on my son, being a new student in the hostel, he could not identify it. They were moving together joyfully. The school authority should please do something about it.”
