The death has been announced of Senator Solomon Ayodeji Otegbola,
The elder statesman until his death on 17th February, 2025 was the Asiwaju of Aworiland and a chieftain of the PDP who was elected as a Senator of the Federal Republic during the aborted third Republic and appointed the Chairman, Federal Housing Authority (FHA) by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
In a press statement signed by Mr Wale Otegbola on behalf of the family, the statement reads;
“With gratitude to God Almighty, we announce the passing into glory of our patriarch, father, and grandfather of the Otegbola family;
“He was a selfless and kind man who lived a fulfilled and great life. He was a great pillar of strength to his family, the community, and his church African Church.
“Senator Solomon Ayodeji Otegbola (The Asiwaju of Aworiland) went to be with the Lord on 17th of February 2025.
“He will be sorely missed by all as he was full of wisdom and remained a gentle and compassionate man till the end.
“He touched countless lives through politics and his profession as an estate and chartered surveyor (Knight Frank & Rutley Nigeria and Osagie Okeke Otegbola & Co) and through his generosity and unwavering love for humanity.
“We find solace in the cherished memories and the legacy of integrity and forthrightness. May his gentle soul rest in the bosom of our good Lord and comfort us all during these difficult times. Adieu Daddy Distinguished Senator S.A Otegbola”
