SECURITY: EKITI AMOTEKUN BEEFS UP SURVEILLANCE OPERATIONS AT BORDER COMMUNITIES

Following an upsurge in criminal activities and banditry in some border communities in Ekiti State especially along the Kwara State axis, operatives of South West Security Network popularly called Amotekun has deployed its men to some troubled spots to compliment the efforts of the police in the areas.
This follows the reported killing of two villagers by suspected bandits at Koro Eruku in Kwara State, a border town to Ekiti State.
Recalled that similar ugly incident occurred at Eda Oniyo last month where an Ekiti youth was killed by irate mob from Obbo Ayegunle in Kwara State over an age long boundary dispute between the two communities.
Gen Adewa, Commander of Ekiti Amotekun in a chat with our correspondent reiterated the efforts of his men to beef up security in the state by focussing on intelligence gathering and constant patrol as he emphasized that criminal elements are living among the people.
The retired army General who commended Ekiti Police command for fishing out suspected killers of some innocent residents in the state recently urged all well meaning Ekiti people to collaborate with security personnels by providing useful information on criminal elements to make Ekiti safer for all.
He hinted that his men are presently combing the bushes in a joint patrol/show of force at Ifeloju LCDA, Ifesowapo LCDA and areas along Oye to Ilemeso and Gede farm settlements along Iyemero road and the exercise has been successful. He noted
