Many residents of Aba Iya Medi, a community along Ilawe road Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, have reasons to thank God even as some are yet to recover from the shock and the miraculous escape from the jaws of sudden death.
This follows a ghastly lone accident by a trailer carrying cement from Ilawe but allegedly lost control while descending the bend due to brake failure.

Visibly confused and jittery, the driver swiftly veered of from the road and like a raging bull, buldozed it’s way to buildings and shops along the route.
The level of collateral damage to people’s property was huge as many shops and kiosks were smashed including a modern Cooperative Conference Hall which the heavily loaded trailer removed one of its reinforcement pillars.

A lucky woman who escaped death by a whisker told our correspondent that she only left her kiosk where she was selling petty items about five minutes before the incident happened.
As at time of filing this report many residents of the community cannot drive in or out because the only entrance road has been totally blocked.
The driver of the Ill- fated vehicle was said to have fled the scene.
