As the wave of endorsements for Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s second term is gathering momentum from different segments of the society, a group under the aegis of Association of Private School Owners of Nigeria APSON, Ekiti State Chapter this morning, stormed the office of DG Ekiti State Bureau of Community Communications endorsing Oyebanji second term in office.
It was a moment which saw the DG Bureau of Community Communications Mrs Mary Omotoso completely overwhelmed by the large crowd that besieged her office which obviously could not contain the visitors as he relocated their representatives to the open field.
Led by the Association’s Chairman, Elder Lade Babatunde and his ex-co members, the teacher’s body expressed delight in the wonderful achievements of the Governor in less than two years of being in the saddle saying he is the only option if the development trends in Ekiti should be sustained beyond 2026.
“We have seen with our eyes how Governor BAO is turning around the fortunes of the State and we cannot but endorse his second term ambition when ever he decides to run. Without being sentimental, this is the first Governor in Ekiti State that plays the politics of progressivism and has the welfare of the people at heart and this is why we are rallying our members from all nooks and crannies of our tentacles to give him our total support come next election”
Continuing, Elder Babatunde said: “We have the voting strength and we are firmly rooted in all the local governments of Ekiti State as an organised body to give our bulk votes when the time comes” he said.
Among the list of their demands is an Association bus to ease their movement and operations in the State.
Responding, the DG appreciated the Association for the visit saying that Governor Oyebanji remains the Governor for all as he has never looked down on any group, association, and interest.
She noted that their coming to add their voices to the avalanche of endorsements of the Governor for second term across the state was to frustrate the camp of those who never believed that the people have spoken.
She however posited that it is too early to engage in second term politics as she stated that Governor Oyebanji is preoccupied with fulfilling his campaign promises to Ekiti people adding that the race for second term ticket is a task for everyone that loves the good work of his boss including the APSON team.
