. Beneficiaries Shower Prayers on Oyebanji Administration

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has distributed bags of rice to households in fourteen farmsteads and villages in Ado Ekiti to help cushion the effects of the present economic situation.
Dr. Oyebanji said the gesture apart from identifying with the people and meeting their needs was also an opportunity to connect with them noting that they are important stakeholders in the task to take Ekiti to greater heights.
Apparently overjoyed by the gesture of the First Lady, the community leaders and residents commended her humanitarian gesture and prayed for the success of the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The localities touched during the distribution exercise included Ugbogun Esumo, Aso Ayegunle, Ago Aduloju, Ika, Ilokun, Irasa, Uso, Igbaye, Oke Aso, Odo, Ujemu, Igbo Aso, Aaye, Aba Iya Medi, Temidire, among others.
The distribution exercise started on Thursday and was concluded on Sunday. It was attended by Chairman, Ado Ekiti Local Government, Chief Bosun Osaloni; Prince Bolu Aladesanmi, the Apase Odua, Prince Adeniyi Adedipe; political aides and staff of Office of the First Lady.
Handing over the food packs to the beneficiaries, the First Lady who was represented by her Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters, Mrs. Toyin Adepoju, expressed concern over what the people are passing through hence the need for the gesture.
She said the welfare of the people was paramount to the government and it was poised to put smiles on their faces most especially during the festive period of Eid el Kabir.
The First Lady noted that it became imperative for her and other political office holders to visit the farmsteads and other people in the state from time to time to feel their pulse and not only during the election season.
Dr. Oyebanji appreciated the people for their love, support and prayers for the present administration, urging them to continue in that direction so as to achieve success in all areas.
While noting that government was concerned about dearth of social amenities in farmsteads across the state capital, she said efforts were in top gear to execute projects that would make life easy for them as such would be carried out in phases.
The First Lady therefore sought the people’s patience, understanding and collaboration with the present administration in order for it to deliver dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the common man.
The beneficiaries of the gesture who were mostly from different ethnic groups namely; the Tiv, the Ebira, the Urhobo and the Yoruba could not hide their joy and expressed appreciation through various songs as well as prayed God to give the present administration the enablement to do more for the benefit of mankind.
Earlier, the village heads in various farmsteads visited including, the Ologun Esumo of Esumo-Igbogun Chief Sunday Oyebade, the Olu of Ika, Chief Adewale Fapohunda and the Olokun of Ilokun, Chief Akeem Adewumi, called for equipped health centres, regular grading of their roads which connect the farms with the main town, provision of potable water and power supply.
