OGBONNAIYE NOW LEADS EKITI NUJ, PROMISES TO PROJECT  STATE’S IMAGE POSITIVELY

A new chairman of the Ekiti State Correspondent chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ has emerged.

The new Chairman in his acceptance speech promised  to ensure that the State is  portrayed in good light to the outside world through accurate and factual reporting .

Comrade Ogbonnaiye, gave this assurance after his Inauguration as the new chairman of the chapel alongside other elected officials.

He also promised to prioritize the welfare of members and project the good image of the chapel and Ekiti State in general.

He equally promised to cooperate with other members of the executives in a bid to influence more progress and development to the chapel.

Earlier, the Chairman NUJ Ekiti State council, Mr Rotimi Ojomoyela, described the peaceful conduct of the exercise as a result of the unity of purpose that exist between members of the chapel.

In the election supervised by  the Chairman of the NUJ, Ekiti State Council and his Secretary, Comrades Rotimi Ojomoyela and Kayode Babatuyi respectively.,Comrade  Victor Akinkuolie, Hope Newspaper and Alo Abiola of Leadership  Newspapers were also elected  Secretary  and Treasurer respectively.

Shortly before the conduct of the exercise, the Chairman of the Credentials Committee, Alhaji Yaqub Popoola, called for the dissolution of the former executive members of the chapel.

The motion was moved by Mrs Adewumi Ademiju of the New Telegraph Newspapers and seconded by Mr Dayo Oladele of the Blueprint Newspapers.

While congratulating the new executive members, the Ekiti NUJ scribe emphasized the needs for more cooperations between members, noted that the move would further bring more progress to the chapel.

The highpoint of the exercise held at the office of the chapel located at Old Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti was the administered of oath of allegiance on the new members by the Secretary of the council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi
