NEW FUOYE PRO-CHANCELLOR, ENGR. KAYODE OJO UNVEILS PLANS TO MAKE VARSITY BEST IN AFRICA

Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, Nigeria, Engr. Kayode Olubunmi Ojo has assured host communities of his aggressive pursuit of innovations, infrastructural development and renewed academic standards which would put the university ahead of others not only in Nigeria but Africa.

According to him, he was ready to engage major stakeholders across the globe with a view to achieving the purpose of putting FUOYE as best university on the continent of Africa.

The Pro-Chancellor said this in Ekiti State where he met with the major stakeholders and the university management on how to advance FUOYE project as he began a weeklong working visit to the university.

He, was, however, received by the university top management, being led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina amidst fanfare, great pomp and ceremony.

Engr. Kayode Olubunmi Ojo was accompanied on the working visit by other members of the Council.

FUOYE Governing Council alongside other Federal tertiary institutions were inaugurated at the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja on July 4.

However, the Pro-Chancellor and other members of the council-Rt. Hon. Nike Omoworare, Barr. Maxwell Gowon, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Ifeoma Ndukwu and Matthews Ofodum Nganjiozor were treated to dinner shortly after their arrival in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.

Also, a Guard of Honour was put in place to herald their arrival on Oye campus by the FUOYE’s security unit as the Pro-Chancellor led other Council members for the weeklong working visit.

Their visitation began from Oye Ekiti where he led members to pay homage to the Oloye palace as they were given heroic welcome.

At the Oloye palace, the Pro-Chancellor told Oloye-in-Council, Oloye of Oye, Oba (Sir) Oluwole Ademolaju Adugbole III and the community that he was on a mission to make the university greater.

He, however, sought the community’s partnership and collaboration in FUOYE’s project, urging the community leaders to invest in the university and further move it to greater heights to become Africa’s best university.

While leveraging on peaceful co-existence between the Oye community and the university as emphasized by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, the Pro-Chancellor passionately pleaded with the community to invest hugely in the university for seamless aggressive infrastructural development.

He was also at the palace of Elekole of Ikole, where he reiterated his commitment to partner with the Ikole community to advance FUOYE project.

The Pro-Chancellor, who continued with the working visit, paid homage to the Aiyegbaju traditional ruler, soliciting the community’s partnership in FUOYE project. Aiyegbaju plays host to FUOYE’s Institute of Part-Time Studies.

He particularly commended the community, asking for its continued peaceful co-existence between it and the university, saying the community’s collaboration was now needed more than ever so as to advance the course of development.

At the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido(FETHI), the Pro-Chancellor expressed his determination to impact “development experience,” saying he was looking forward to an aggressive improvement with a view to making FETHI play its roles in moulding future medical professionals
