MY STEWARDSHIP AS IREDE LCDA BOSS–HON ABOBADE

For the Executive Chairman of Irede LCDA, Hon. Abobade Johnson Olugbenga, it was a moment to count blessings and name them one after the other

This is as he reeled out the list of his scorecards to the people of Irede LCDA Ipoti Ekiti at a recent occasion marking his one year and six months in office.

Addressing a mammoth gathering of the critical stakeholders in the community comprising traditional rulers, party faithful and community leaders, Hon. Abobade reminded the people of his campaign promises to ensure inclusive governance that would make people feel the path of economic progress and prosperity for all.

“It is gratifying to note that our people are now conscious of the fact that the enthronement of good government that places their common interest above personal or parochial interest is the only way to truly enjoy good governance that guarantees better standard of living”. He said

Countinuing, the council boss noted that he has not reneged on those promises looking back as he reeled out some of his landmark achievements in the past over one year of his administration.

According to him: “After some times of being in the saddle, again, evidence abound that I am, indeed, walking the talk and enhancing impact. An account of my stewardship since I took the mantle of power will be rendered and to mention few of it in this paflet.

“Construction of 4 unit of lock up shop at Odo-owa/Ipoti junction.
(2)​Construction of 16 unit of lock up shop at Ipoti Sabo Market.
(3)​Glazing of Reception area of Irede LCDA Secretariat
(4) ​Erection of abandoned perimeter fencing with modern gate to the Secretariat entrance.
(5) Construction of submersible well for water supply into the Irede LCDA Secretariat.
(6) Extension of Electricity from the National grid to Irede LCDA Secretariat.
(7) Purchase of computer set and accessories for office use.
(8) Extension of 6 rooms office space for staff.
(9) Purchase of office table and chair into the new offices and the existing ones.
(10) Construction of staff toilets.
(11) Grading of 9.8 km road leading to the farm stead (Odo-owa to Ofale)
(12) Distilling of drainages across the communities in Irede LCDA.
(13) Purchase of 2 TV set, Fans, Fridge, and Public address system to information unit.
(14) Purchase and installation of 50 units of Street Solar Lights to the Communities.
(15) Purchase of 50 Plastic Chairs, Marriage Decorating Materials, etc to marriage registry
(16) Provision of Brand new Motorcycles, Tables and Chairs, brand new tyres, Iron doors, Rain Coats, Rain Boots, Touch lights to all the security agencies to be distributed as soon as possible.
(17) Repair of Police Patrol Vehicle including purchase of 4 new tyres, replacement of parts and panting.
(18) Construction of drainages (200m) in Odo-owa (beside St. Paul Primary School and Health Centre Road) and Ipoti Sabo Market.
(19) Renovation of Divisional Police Office in ipoti
(20) Repairs of Project Vehicle and Toyota Corolla received from Ijero LG as part of asset shared.
(21) Purchase of Solar Lights with TV to complement the Electricity connected to the Secretariat.
(22) Installation of Aluminum Windows to the Secretariat’s Conference hall.
(23) Tilling of Corridor leading to the offices.
(24) Fumigation of Primary Schools across the LCDA.
(25) Training / Seminar for Food Vendors and Handler across the Irede LCDA and issuing of Certificate of Participation.
(26) Xmas and New Year gifts to Christian, Party faithful and State holders.
(27) Rams and Cash gift to Muslims during Ramadan and Ileya festival.
(28) Cash gift to the Senior Citizen and Vulnerable during Easter celebration.
(29) Servicing of Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise
(30) Fumigations of the offices and the environment of the Secretariat.
(31) Tilling of Chairman’s office and replacement of toilets accessory.
(32) Employment of casual staffs to the LCDA.
(33) Clearing of Road verges across the LCDA.
(34) Road Patching and Maintains.
(35) Distribution of fuel subsidy palliative to the senior’s citizens and the vulnerables”

Others include;

  1. Building of Irede Skill Acquisition Center.
  2. Building of Irede Computer Training Center.
  3. Building of Open Markets and more Lock up Shops.
  4. Robust Health facilities to both old and young.
  5. Empowerment programme: youth, women, farmer, Artisan, widow e.t.c.
  6. Investment in sport activities that will figure out the talents in our youths.
  7. Mechanized and substance farming to improve our farm products.
  8. Welfare Packages to all class of people and access to financial grants.

“Having seen what had been able to achieved and the structured plan, wonderful programmes ahead, it will only remain a dream, if you do not behave in what we can still offer. My commitment and determination to continue operating a government Capable of impacting meaningfully on the lives of the residents of IREDE LCDA will never be in doubt”

He however reinstated his commitment to continually provide the dividends of democracy to the people in his LCDA.

His words; “We at the generation next, promise a participating, transparent, and meaningful government that would listen to the wishes and aspiration of all.
“I am not unmindful of the fact that a lot still need to be done and would be done. I am, however, clear in my vision of a better tomorrow, a tomorrow that all sons and daughters of Irede LCDA will be proud of, irrespective of political affiliations”
