Barely one week into the new regime of subsidy removal and it’s attendant hike in pump price to N500 per litre, the frustrating long queues of vehicles at fuel stations is gradually fizzling out in most petrol sale outlets visited by our correspondents today.
It was gathered that most NNPC stations sold their products at the new price of N500 while the few Independent marketers that have fuel sold at the same price.
However, the endless queues experienced by motorists before the subsidy removal seems to be a thing of the past for the obvious reason of general hike in the pump price.
In a similar vein, most marketters complained about low patronage because of the astronomical increase in the price.
Indeed few vehicles were on the road as gathered by our correspondents who discovered that many car owners parked their cars at home and prefer to take bike to their offices.
In another development, the sale of petrol in jerry cans has been reintroduced by fuel marketters in most filling stations visited today unlike before when people go through excruciating pains before they could power their generators for domestic use.
