KANO URGES PRESIDENT TINUBU TO REMOVE 15TH EMIR TO RESTORE ORDER

The Kano State government has urged President Tinubu to remove the 15th Emir of Kano from his current residence in Nasarawa.
It claimed that the Emir’s presence has become a focal point for unrest, with elements within the community exploiting the situation to incite discord.

Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, condemned the decision to house the Emir in Nasarawa, arguing that it was a deliberate attempt to undermine the government’s efforts to maintain peace.

“The continued residence of the 15th Emir in Nasarawa is seen as a tactic to disrupt the tranquility of our state and deny our people what is rightfully theirs,” Gwarzo stated.

He noted that recent protests by local residents, who have taken to the streets demanding the Emir’s removal, further underscore the growing discontent.

Deputy Governor Gwarzo stressed that the removal of the Emir is not merely a symbolic gesture but a necessary step towards ensuring that the governance of Kano remains stable and just.

“We call on President Tinubu to act swiftly and remove the Emir from Kano State entirely, paving the way for a leadership that truly reflects the will of our people,” he declared.

Comrade Gwarzo added that just as the law had installed the previous Emir, it stands to install a successor who will better serve the state’s interests.

He said the government remains steadfast in its commitment to the rule of law, signaling that legal provisions will guide the forthcoming transition.
