.. Suspects offer N500,000 bribe

The eagle eyes of operatives of Amotekun security outfit Emure Ekiti Command on Tuesday, caught two suspected drug traffickers from a successful transit operation to neighbouring Ondo State.
The suspects, Alale Kehinde, 45 and Dada Kehinde, 55, both natives of Ondo State were alledged to be notorious dealers of Indian hemp along that axis until they were trailed and apprehended by the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps on Tuesday during a routine night patrol by the Emure Local Government Operatives.
Giving further details the Corps Head of Communication Department, Officer Adeleye Adewale in a press release said; “A white unregistered (J5) van, conveying one hundred and eight (108) bags of cannabis sativa, also known as Indian hemp was intercepted on its way to Ondo State”.
He added that, the suspects’ efforts towards inducing the arresting officer with a whooping N500,000 proved abortive as the officer refused saying he was not trained to receive any bribe or gratification in the course of discharging his duty
Upon further interrogations, the suspects,l confessed to the criminal act at the scene of the crime, noting that, they were driving the fully-loaded lndian hemp vehicle to an unspecified destination in Ondo State.
The duo and exhibits have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA Officers posted within the axis, for further investigation.
