A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and Patron, Bola Ahmed TInubu Solidarity Vanguard, Dr. Olusegun Osinkolu, has congratulated Muslim adherents in Ekiti State and Nigeria on the occasion of the 2024 Eid-el-Kabir.
Osinkolu urged all Nigerians, especially the Muslims to coalesce their intellectual endowments with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a new and prosperous Nigeria to emerge under the current dispensation.
He stated that Prophet Ibrahim lived by faith in Allah, which prompted him to heed God’s directive that he should make sacrifices to Him and humanity, urging Muslims to be firmly guided by this principle in the overall interest of the country.
The APC stalwart said these in a statement issued, on Saturday, saluting the Muslims on the occasion of Sallah celebration.
For Nigeria to overcome the intimidating challenges of insecurity, unemployment, poverty and hyper inflation in the system, Osinkolu urged Muslims to make personal commitments suffice to engender the survival of the Nigerian nation.
“Let me congratulate you on this occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, which typifies a celebration of sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim. We all need to make enough sacrifices for Nigeria to grow and develop.
“Prophet Ibrahim lived his entire life having faith in God. Nigerians should cultivate this habit and have unflinching faith that the country shall overcome its challenges and meet our yearnings and aspirations”, he advised.
Osinkolu observed that while President Tinubu, Governors and other political leaders assiduously work towards rebuilding the Nigerian State, the support, prayers and goodwill of the masses were needed to guide the leaders.
Specifically, Osinkolu praised the Muslims in Ekiti State and Nigeria for promoting religious harmony, thereby ensuring peace and togetherness among the diverse ethno-religious groups that make up Nigeria.
The APC leader noted that Nigeria, as a nation, is at a critical juncture of its evolution, exuding confidence that Nigeria under the leadership of President Tinubu shall survive and develop in all facets.
“As we celebrate we should have this at the back of our minds that our peaceful co-existence, regardless of religious differences remains non-negotiable. This is one reality we must all live with.
“We can’t be striving for unity, peace and economic prosperity and be fueling the ember of discord using religion. All religions preach peace and togetherness. No nation can develop under this burden.
“Religious tolerance remains the only way to have a clear conscience that can glow our patriotism and improve our faith in the future of this country”, he pointed out.
