ILOGBO STAKEHOLDERS VISIT BUREAU OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT, SHOWCASE COMMUNITY’S UNIQUE SITES FOR EKITI TOURISM

In a strategic move to showcase the rich tourism potential of Ilogbo Ekiti, a delegation from the Owalogbo-in-Council, Ilogbo Ekiti, led by Rt Hon Adetunji Orisalade, former Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, stormed the office of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development in Ado Ekiti on 23rd July 2024.

The delegation, which included High Chief Odofin Ilogbo, Chief Babatunde Ogunleye, High Chief Ajimalofin Omoniyi, Chief Aina Kayode, Hon. Agboola D., and Miss Sunday Janet, presented a detailed document titled “Highlighting the Major Tourism Potentials of Ilogbo Ekiti” to the team at the Bureau, comprising Amb Wale Ojo-Lanre Esq, Director General, Barrister Adegboyega Morakinyo, Executive Secretary, Mr Peculiar Ekiran, Special Assistant, and Mrs Dolapo Ogunleye, Tourism Officer.

The delegation commended Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his tourism vision and the Bureau for its commendable efforts.
They highlighted the various tourism sites in Ilogbo Ekiti, including the Ope Olori Yeye (the only palm tree in the world with 42 heads), Erandu Rock Shelter, Ogidigbi Steam, Kiti Kiti Picnic Rock, and Alaorosaba Rock, emphasizing their economic, social, and religious significance.

Rt Hon Orisalade, the spokesperson for the delegation, called for government enhancement and assured the government of the community’s readiness to cooperate in the development of these tourism sites.

In response, Amb Wale Ojo-Lanre Esq, the Director General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, commended the Ilogbo Community for their proactive approach and assured them of the government’s support in realizing the full potential of these tourism sites.

This visit marks a significant step forward in the partnership between the Ilogbo Ekiti community and the Ekiti State government, as they work together to showcase the rich cultural and natural heritage of the state and attract more visitors to the region.
