Honourable Anthonia Alaba Omonusi, the Executive Chairperson of Ekiti South East Local Council Development Area has revealed her innovative achievements in her first two years as the Executive Chairperson of Ekiti South East Local Council .
Speaking with journalist recently, Omonusi said her achievements during her first tenure was by the special grace of God and the cooperation she received from other members of her team.
She noted further that having been trusted with the mantle to lead the Council again through her ‘re- election for the second term, she will consolidate her previous efforts by doing more laudable projects than her first regime.
Marching action with words and barely two weeks after her inauguration, Omonusi said the Council has kick started her second term with the renovation of 65 lock up shops at the central market in Omuo – Oke.
“This is the first activity to be carried out in this my second term. We want to kick start our projects and we are starting from Omuo – Oke Central Market with renovation of 65 lock up shops at the central market. We want to re – roof, repaint and rebrand the market just to beautify it and we are starting right now after the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration. There is no time to waste time in our LCDA, we are known for developing innovative projects, so we are starting now” she said.
Expressing her desires, the Chairperson said her drive is to see her Local Council Development Area at the fore front in terms of both capital and human capacity development in Ekiti State. “I want to lead while others follow therefore, no room to waste time in kick starting our projects” she affirmed.
Speaking further Omonusi said, she is greatly delighted to give back to her people as promised during her campaign period and promised to always embark on people’s oriented projects that will improve the well being of people in her Local Council Area.
Commending her efforts in the nascent Council area, the newly sworn in Secretary of the LCDA, Honourable Adebamigbe Yemi said that her achievements during her first term in office shows how versatile she is as a leader and achiever. According to him, her distinct character, penchant for work and unwaivered leadership traits have made Ekiti South East Local Council Development Area leader in the State in terms of developmental projects.
“As the pioner Chairperson of the LCDA, her first tenure is a great testament to her penchant for good governance and her compassion to give the best to her people” he said.
Also demonstrating her philanthropic gesture and charismatic attitudes towards her people, Honourable Omonusi donated generously to the family of a newly born baby who lost her mother during child birth.
According to the Chairperson, the mother of the new born baby died while the child survived, when I got to hear about it, we visited the father and the rest of the family to express our sympathy and also donate some gift items and cash to them to meet up with the immediate needs of the child.
“It happened about two weeks ago and I got to know it through a friend. The Person involved in this case is from Araromi Ugbesi, I was called that somebody gave birth to a baby while the baby survived, the mother died. I have to swing into action to at least give them some supporting materials that they can use to take care of the baby considering the financial status of the parents.” She said.
The Chairperson who presented cash and baby materials worth several thousands of naira to the father and other family members of the child promised that the Council under her leadership will continue to look after the child till he attains a certain age which will be convenient for the father to look after his welfare.
She noted that this visit is just the first step and she and her team will be visiting them periodically to assess the situation of the child. While consoling the bereaved family she promised that the Council will always live up to its social responsibility anytime the need arises.
Responding to this gesture by the Chairperson of the Local Council, the father of the baby, Mr Ojo Bidemi said he was short of words to describe this wonderful assistance by the honourable Chairperson but pray that God in His infinite Mercy will continue to guide and protect the Chairperson and also, give her more divine wisdom to direct and lead the people of Ekiti South East Local Council Development Area to glory.
