Indications emerged yesterday that states in South East Nigeria may soon get a reprieve from the debilitating effects of the menace of sit- at- home imposed on the region by supporters of the detained leader of the proscribed Independent People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
This was as a result of a handwritten letter that went viral believed to be written by the embattled leader to Finland based agitator, Simon Ekpa, calling for a stoppage of the action which many believed, had crumbled the economy of the entire region.
In the letter, Kanu also ordered Ekpa to stop antagonising Governors or persons in political positions as he(Ekpa) is not in position to know what they are doing on his behalf.
The letter reads: “Simon this is a direct order from me. I hereby instruct you to desist from calling for any sit-at-home henceforth.
“Equally refrain from antagonising governors or persons in political positions because you are not in a position to know what what they are doing on my behalf.

“I am ordering to make a pubic announcement to the effect that you are Receipt of a direct order from me to cancel any Monday or future sit at home order in place at the moment.
“I embarked on the movement to liberate our people not to enslave them. I despise and despise any person or entity that wishes to inflict unnecessary hardship on our people.
I have authorised Alloy to issue a press statement if you fail to make this announcement on your platform.”
Observers say the message from the detained IPOB leader may have put an end to the incessant killings and mayhem in the south east particularly the sit- at- home order
