FUOYE’S PLOTS LIBEL SUITS AGAINST FURTHER MEDIA REPORTS ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT SCANDAL, THREATENS TO REVEAL ‘HIDDEN SECRETS’ OF EMBATTLED FEMALE STAFF

In a new twist to the ongoing investigation of alleged sexual harrassment involving the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Oye Ekiti, Prof Abayomi Sunday Fashina and a female senior staff, Engr Mrs Folasade Adebayo, the spokesperson of the institution on behalf of the University, has sounded a note of caution to media organisations reporting the incident to prepare for libel suits as he maintained his principal’s innocence in the alleged sexual harrassment scandal.

He stated this in a chat with our correspondent who seeks clarifications of his office to a press statement issued by a Women advocacy group under the aegis of SSANU-NWC calling for the sack of the VC.

His words: “This your report is clearly in support of those confused women who called themselves SSANU National Working Committee and we will be prepared to sue you should you publish this report sir. Just be ready to face libel suit.

“Let me categorically assure you that my principal will survive this unnecessary media onslaught because we all know the underlining ambition is political” he said.

The institution’s image maker in another chat, lampooned the female senior staff Engr Mrs Folasade Adebayo who is presently seeking justice over the alleged sexual harrassment scandal saying: “Do you even know the woman you in the media are defending and writing rubbish to assist? Don’t worry, we are going to unfold the ugly truths about Folasade Adebayo when the time is ripe and you all will be shocked and ashamed of your one sided stories that you are promoting because of money. This same woman has accused the former VC of the same nonsensical sexual harrassment. She was caught pants down with the former Registrar of the University with other women of easy virtues, so is that the woman you guys are using your honourable pens to assist in the media? He querried.
However, several calls and messages to Mrs Adebayo for her reaction were not answered.
