EXCITEMENT AS IKORO APEX TOWN UNION INAUGURATES NEW EX-CO

Ikoro-Ekiti, the headquarters of Eso-Obe LCDA at the weekend, was thrown into wide jubilation as the community’s apex town union, Ikoro Progressive Association, (IPA) inaugurated its new executive council.

The high octane event was graced by eminent sons and daughters of the community including the paramount ruler and Olukoro, Oba (Dr) Adebanji Adeleye and the Chairman of Eso-Obe LCDA, Ekiti State, Hon. Kole Ayeni.

Speaking on behalf of his 14-member ex-co ably moderated by a legal luminary and the secretary of the electoral committee, Mr. Kolawole Kayode, the new President, Mr. Taiwo Akanbi, promised a season of resounding progress in the community.

According to him; “The new exco is set to promote and execute a new chapter of progress in the community. This is with a good number of developmental and progressive activities which will be the focus of the Association in the next few months.

” I want to assure everyone that we are dedicated to serving our community with integrity and passion.” He remarked.

Akanbi later made a clarion call to all indigenes of the community to join the new exco towards shaping a brighter future.

“We are here to address pressing community issues and enhance quality of life.” He stated

Earlier, the immediate past President of the Association, Prof. Sehinde Benson highlighted the progress the Association has made in the past few years while encouraging the new exco to continue from there and also surpass any progress or success that have been earlier recorded by the Association.”

Speaking in similar vein, the Paramount ruler of the community HRM Oba Adeleye urged the new exco to make use of their new offices for the betterment of the community in all forms.

His words: “It is fact that this is a selfless service to the community, but that notwithstanding, these are posts that come with prestige and honour. You must therefore see it as an opportunity to contribute your qouta to the development of the community in every positive way. ” He said.

One of the high points of the event was imvestiture of some prominent indigenes of the town as Grand Patrons, Patrons and Matrons of the Association amongst who are the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Dele Alake, the Chairman, Governor Council, Federal University Oye, Engr. Kayode Ojo, the Chairman, Governing Council, College of Health Science and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti and former Executive Secretary, NIHS, Dr. Femi Thomas, Others are; the immediate past Chairman, Nigerian Port Authority, Jide Adesoye and retired ACG, Kayode Olusemire.
