The highly anticipated Ewi’s Cup, organized by the Ado Local Football Council, commenced with a bang as three Local Council Development Areas in Ado and the Local Government Area clashed in exciting matches.
In the opening fixture, Ado North LCDA showcased their prowess with a convincing 3-1 victory over Ado Local Government.
The second match between Ado Central LCDA and Ado West LCDA ended in a nail-biting 1-1 draw.
However, Ado Central emerged victorious with a 6-5 win in penalties, demonstrating their resilience and teamwork.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Chairman of Ado Central, Engr. Toyin Ojo, who showed his unwavering support for his LCDA. His enthusiasm and camaraderie with the fans and players made him a major highlight of the competition.
Prince Deji Aladesiun, Chairman of Ado Local Football Council, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the teams, officials, and dignitaries in attendance. He particularly thanked Honorable Toyin Ojo for his presence and support, as well as Are Olu Oloworemo, Chairman of Ekiti State Football Association, for their backing.
The Ewi’s Cup final will take place on August 20th at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, featuring Ado Central LCDA vs. Ado North LCDA.
