Management and staff of Ado Central LCDA Oke-Oniyo Ado Ekiti on Friday, organised the 2024 Christmas Carol Service at the main bowl of the multi-purpose Hall of the council Secretariat.
It was a grand colourful event commemorating the birth of Jesus celebrated by Christians all over the world.
The brief Service of songs and ministration featured a grand performance by Ado Central LCDA Christian chapel as the choristers thrilled the audience with beautiful carol songs that made the program a joyous experience.
Reverend Dosumu Segun Timothy who doubles as the Chaplain of the LCDA in a sermon titled: ‘Prince of Peace’ admonished the gathering to look beyond the wining and dining associated with Christmas but to focus on the significance of Jesus as the only saviour of the world who has come to bring peace to a troubled world.
He noted that the world today is full of hunger hatred, tribulations and strife but the only hope of every believer is in the Lord Jesus who came to the world to establish a kingdom of peace and love.
Engr Ojo who read the third lesson in his speech, emphasized the importance of Christmas to the mankind saying: “Christmas reminds us of the importance of love, togetherness and giving. It is time when we dwell on the values that bind us as a community, unity, compassion and share hope for brighter tomorrow”
Continuing, the council boss noted that; “Christmas Carol has a unique way of lifting our spirit and reminding us of timeless message of peace and goodwill to all”
He emphatized the need to show love, compassion and generous spirit to the less privileged in the community.
His words; “As we sing and celebrate this evening, let us also remember those in our community who may be less fortunate. Let us reach out to them with our hearts of kindness ensuring that every one feels the love of this season”
He reiterated Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s charge to the people during the State Carol Service held on Thursday where he pointed out that some people who are privileged should reach out to the needy.
“I as the Council Chairman is using this occasion to charge those of us whom God has blessed to reach out to our brothers and sisters out there and touch their lives as we celebrate the festive season”
In a related development, the Information Officer of the Council Mr Sunday Olatunji listed some of the legacy projects of the LCDA chair which cut across the council area in the past one year.
Present at the occasion includes wife of the Chairman, the Vice Chairman, the Council secretary, HLA, and top career and administrative officers of the Council among others.
