The Executive Chairman of Ado Central LCDA Engr. Oluwatoyin Ojo has been nominated winner of this year’s Local Government Chairmen Merit Award.
Ojo, whose name was published in the Tuesday’s edition of Punch newspaper will join other winners from the country’s 36 states and FCT to receive the award at a gala event slated for November 24 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The prestigious award which is the 22nd edition was put together by renowned reputable media outfit- Mentors Communications Limited to identify outstanding council chairmen in Nigeria who has impacted positively to grassroots development based on some basic parameters.
In a letter of Nomination to the award winning council boss and made available to our correspondent the organizer writes:
“Your commitment to service delivery and high sense of accountability despite dwindling financial resources to the council are very commendable”
Continuing, the letter reads; “You have demonstrated responsible and accountable leadership that have made positive impacts on the lives of ordinary in your Local Government particularly in your outstanding achievements in the area of Portable Water Supply. This award is therefore packaged to celebrate”
The award ceremony which comes up later in the month would be chaired by Senator Patrick Ifeanyi, Chairman, Senate Committee on States and Local Government Affairs while Hon. Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo is expected to be the Guest of Honour
