EKSG LAUDS CONTRACTOR HANDLING INTERNATIONAL ART & CULTURE THEATRE PROJECT FOR COMPLIANCE WITH LOCAL CONTENT LAW

As part of concerted efforts by Ekiti State Government to ensure full compliance to the Local Content Law by contractors handling various projects in the state, the Director General, Ekiti State Bureau of Local Content, Mr Olalekan Ijidale and His Enforcement Team on Tuesday, made an unscheduled tour to a Construction Site situated at Ekute/Ajilosun road with a view to assess the compliance rate of the contractors handling the construction of the proposed International Art and Culture Theatre Project.

In his address to the Project Consultant, Mesirs Adedokun Alade & Company, Engr. Alade during the visit, Mr Ijidale noted that the Ekiti State Government is passionate about the potential contribution of all Indigenous and non-indigenous contractors handling Projects in Ekiti State for sustainable development and shared prosperity drive of the administration.

He expressed satisfaction with the contractor’s compliance with the Local Content Law in the area of engagement of local workforce and utilization of locally sourced materials in the project.

The DG however, appealed to the Contractor to regularize their registration with the Bureau and also adhere strictly to the provisions of the law by engaging 40% of Local workforce as well as prioritize locally manufactured goods and materials in the execution of the project.

The MD/CEO, Engineer Alade commended the DG, Ekiti State Bureau of Local Content for supporting the realization of Mr Governor’s Agenda while pledging his company’s unalloyed support, loyalty and commitment to Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s led administration towards realization of the core developmental strides of the visionary leader.
