Top officials of Cavistal Holdings the parent company of Glocient the official concessionaire of Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort and Conference Centre yesterday, paid a working visit to the office of DG Bureau of Tourism Development to deliberate on a number of mutually beneficial issues in the area of tourism and hospitality industry.
One of the high points of the crucial meeting was a grand plan to receive the Hon. Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Lola Ade-John who will be making her first official vist to Ekiti during the Easter period with a view to make her visit a memorable one.
The 3-man team led by Mr Dauda Lawal, Director of Community Engagement, High Chief Ayo Ademilua, Community Engagement Manager and Mr Ayo Olujekun Deputy General Manager, Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort and Conference disclosed their readiness to partner with the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development.
In his welcome address, Lawal said the visit, which he described as ‘homage visit’ to the DG, Amb Wale Ojo-Lanre was at the instance of the Chairman, Cavistal Holdings who is based in Dallas to Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development.
His words; “Ekiti State Government has made a good choice in the appointment of Amb. Barr Wale Ojo-Lanre as the DG Bureau of Tourism Development. It is a choice that Ekiti will never regret and a choice that the whole stakeholders in tourism development in Nigeria will never regret. We are using him as an ambassador and we are promising him that Cavistal Holdings will collaborate with his office to promote the agenda of the government”
Speaking further on the agenda of Glocient company, the former world Bank staff said; “We are turning Glocient to a brand like the Eko Hotels or Sheraton Hotels of this world and for somebody who wants to throw a challenge to us that what have you done before we can conveniently tell them to come to Ikogosi because what we have done in Ikogosi as we speak is less than 5% of the plan we have for Ikogosi
“We are going to have our own helipad and we are grateful to the Ekiti State Government for initiating an airport in Ekiti State. We are going to have a golf course and so many things that will magnetically attract visitors internationally”
On the planned Minister’s visit, Lawal said; “We are also going to collaborate and work together with the Bureau to give the Honourable Minister a befitting package since the woman has put it in her letter that she should be given the opportunity not only to see Ikogosi but to eat and enjoy herself at the Resort. Fortunately the woman picked a right time coinciding with a public holiday and we are confident that what we have in place at Ikogosi Resort is a fantastic ambience that the Honorable Minister would enjoy when she comes around with her team”
