Ekiti State will be represented by both the male and female teams in the 2024 National Division 2 Volleyball League .
This was disclosed by the State volleyball coach, Soji Farotimi in a telephone chat with the Chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ekiti State, Qozeem Oladapo on Wednesday.
Coach Farotimi who said the two teams had been preparing and training regularly prior to the League are going all out to do the State proud at the National Division 2 League holding in Owerri, Imo State between May 8 and 19.
He thanked governor Biodun Oyebanji for approving and supporting the participation of the two teams adding that the governor’s gesture has further proven his passion and commitment towards the development of Sports in its entirety .
Coach Farotimi said the Team Ekiti will depart on May 7 to join teams representing other States of the federation as actions begin on May 8.
The volleyball court at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti has been busy with daily training by the players under the tutelage of Coach Soji Farotimi who also affirmed that the spirit of the male and female volleyballers are high in preparation for the Division 2 Volleyball League.
