EKITI VIGILANTE GROUP PLEDGES CONTINUED COLLABORATION WITH OTHER SECURITY AGENCIES

…Wants Gov. Oyebanji to provide weapons, vehicles for effective performance

The Vigilante Group in Ekiti state says it will continue to work with other security agencies to ensure safety of life and property of the people.

Speaking on the current security challenges in the country, the Commander of Vigilante Group in Ekiti State, Mr Akin Olohunloni said with the efforts of the group and other security agencies, all the criminal elements especially kidnappers would be apprehended.

The Commander of Ekiti State Vigilante Group noted that the group had achieved breakthrough in arresting some criminal elements disturbing the state while such people were handed over to police for prosecution.
Mr Olorunloni stressed the need for Governor Biodun Oyebanji to empower members of the vigilante group to perform better, saying they lacked necessary weapons and vehicles to operate effectively.

He commended the efforts of the Governor in ensuring that residents of the state could sleep with their two eyes closed through provision gadgets to some security outfits, seeking such for vigilante group.
Mr Olorunloni urged residents of the state to cooperate with the vigilante by given them necessary information that could assist in arresting those terrorising the peace of the state.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu had ordered States Governors to empower local security outfits such as Vigilante Group to assist in combating crimes in the Country.
